Ani has been guiding students to explore the interdependence of breathing and movement for over ten years. She uses precise alignment and breath awareness to develop integrated core strength and mental focus, bringing mindfulness into the immediate, somatic experience. Her practice and teaching are informed by her work as a modern dancer, mindfulness meditation, Radiolab, and off-leash hours in the park.
Ani received her vinyasa yoga teacher training at OM Yoga Center, where she was also a teacher, and is a graduate of the Advanced Studies Program in Anatomy and Breath-Centered Yoga at The Breathing Project. She has developed and taught specialized yoga programs for cancer survivors (with Tari Prinster), and incarcerated and at-risk youth (with Lineage Project). Ani also works as a freelance grant writer for non-profit arts, education and health organizations.
