- Maintain studio schedule of classes, workshops, teachers/subs, and work studies. Inform all affected parties to make sure the studio runs smoothly.
Manage communication among the staff, teachers, work studies, and students in a friendly, professional manner. Ensure that everyone is heard, and escalate concerns to owner as necessary.
Manage digital media: Update SquareSpace website, plan and execute social media strategy. Create ads for certain programs as needed/requested.
Develop agenda for and attend weekly staff meetings: collect questions throughout the week and note upcoming studio promotions and programs for discussion. Review and report on past workshops and program performance. Keep track of outstanding agenda items and circle back as necessary.
Oversee the daily operation of the studio 3-4 days per week: respond to work study end notes, resolve customer issues, answer email and phone, sign in yoga classes, track and update sub scheduling, ensure cash drawer is in order, and supervise the smooth running of the front desk.
Run payroll report 1-2 times per month. Keep track of other monies owed from past payrolls and ensure teachers are compensated accurately. Enter final payroll into system, write sub checks, award sub comps, and send pay reports to all teachers.
Oversee the detailed management of teaching staff. Arrange teacher auditions, track client requests for private lessons and assign to teachers, answer public inquiries, and help troubleshoot problems as needed. Maintain substitute teacher list and teacher/staff profiles in MindBody Online.
Check studio daily for cleanliness and tidiness. Supervise cleaning staff and conduct light cleaning as necessary.
Assist with retail boutique: check in inventory and ticket products; run monthly, quarterly, and annual retail sales reports and compare sales year-over-year; keep track of seasonal buying and facilitate meeting between Retail Manager and Studio Owner.
Assist Studio Owner with special projects as needed.
Proven leadership ability in wellness or other professional settings
Minimum 2 years customer service experience
Must be enthusiastic, friendly, and maintain a generally positive outlook and sense of humor
Excellent, clear verbal and written communication skills
Some experience managing staff
Efficient time-management & problem-solving skills
Impeccable organization and eye for detail
Ability to multi-task amidst frequent interruptions
Willingness to check in on urgent studio needs from home as needed
Passion for (or budding interest in) yoga
Desired, but not required:
MindBody Online experience
Marketing experience, especially social media, an understanding of SEO, familiarity with SquareSpace, and/or graphic design
Financial management experience
Fulfilled by community and by being a partner in the creation of a local small business
Level-headed and able to successfully interact with a wide variety of personality types
A multi-tasking maven, an organizational oracle, and a detail-oriented doyen
A mix of day, weekend, and evening hours is ideal. Position can be structured as three-quarters time or full-time. Pay rate is based on experience. Unlimited, free, phenomenal yoga for the successful candidate!
