Adele Loux-Turner’s career in dance led to her discovery of yoga. After graduating with a BFA in dance from SUNY-Purchase in 2001, she completed her yoga teacher certification at Integral Yoga Institute in Manhattan. She has since completed specialty certifications for prenatal yoga (New York Yoga), yoga for labor and delivery and postpartum yoga with Beth Donnelly Caban (Integral Yoga Institute), and children’s yoga (Karma Kids).
As a continuation of her work with mothers, Adele trained as a labor doula through DONA International in 2008 and has had the honor of attending several of her students' births. In 2011, she completed a 2 year course of training in somatics and yoga with Amy Matthews at the Breathing Project where she is currently studying Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga through the School of Body-Mind Centering. Still active in the dance community, she has taught children’s and professional-level dance classes and currently performs with several independent choreographers.
