cassie naaktgeboren

Originally from Iowa, Cassie made the big move to Brooklyn with her husband and cat in tow in August of 2012 to share her love of yoga and music with students of all ages. In her Hatha classes, Cassie strives to foster a nurturing and joyful environment in which individuals of any age or experience level can be free to explore their bodies, minds, and spirits in their practice. Through mantra, asana, pranayama, and meditation, we'll tap into that light that shines so brightly in us all; that light that is our true potential.

It was while toiling away at her undergraduate degree in Voice Performance that Cassie discovered the transformative power of yoga in 2006. Not only did practicing yoga, pranayama, and meditation inform and impact her performing and voice teaching approaches, it also dramatically improved my physical and mental health. She wasn't satisfied with keeping this practice to herself and felt compelled to share this knowledge with anyone who was open to listening and learning.

Cassie began teaching in 2008, and after nine months of study and practice under the guidance of ParaYoga master teacher Tanya Boigenzahn-Sowards, she received her RYT 235-hour certification from Devanadi Yoga in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not only does Cassoe love sharing the practice of yoga with adults, but she also shares it with the littlest of yogis! She “plays yoga” at Karma Kids Yoga, where she became certified in September of 2012, and she received Postnatal and Postpartum Yoga certification from Jyothi Larson, author of Yoga Mom, Buddha Baby. Cassie is also a classically trained singer, voice teacher, and kids music class teacher.
